We are now seeing the emergence of ultrasound credentialing requirements. New Mexico and Oregon require mandatory licensure of individuals performing ultrasound. In other states, reimbursement is linked to credentialing. Laboratory accreditation can be achieved with certified staff.
We now have a targeted examination available for phlebology ultrasound. Both physicians and registered vascular sonographers can achieve a subspecialty credential with the Registered Phlebology Sonographer exam. This activity is intended for technologists, physicians, and others interested in preparation for the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) RPhS exam.
The Review Course faculty is compiled of experts in the field of ultrasound and phlebology. The course sessions will follow the phlebology ultrasound examination content outlined by CCI. These will include anatomy, physiology, patient evaluation and criteria for non-invasive diagnostic studies as well as a comprehensive overview of venous surgical interventions and lymphedema therapies.
