Ask the Experts: Ultrasound Evaluation of Abdominal and Pelvic Veins: How I Do It (LIVE PATIENT DEMO) [CME] (UIP2013-23)
This session will include an abdominal and pelvic vein patient ultrasound, with techniques and descriptions from three leading faculty. Audience questions are also included to offer the learner the most comprehensive patient demonstration experience.

The content of this activity is designed to meet the needs of the following target audience: phlebologists, general surgeons, vascular surgeons, interventional radiologists, interventional cardiologists, vascular medicine practitioners, dermatologists, dermatologic surgeons, family practice and internal medicine practitioners, plastic surgeons, obstetricians and gynecologists, cardiologists, and any other healthcare professional currently or planning on treating patients with venous disease.
As a result of this activity, the participant should be able to:
- Explain the relevant ultrasound anatomy and the different acoustic windows for imaging abdominal and pelvic veins.
- Describe the pathology seen in patients with compression syndromes.
- Perform an evaluation for obstruction and reflux of the abdominal and pelvic veins.
